Many advertisements, articles and even news may say that a certain business proves to be the Best Franchise business opportunity in the market today. Some may even say that the franchise would only cost a small percentage of one’s savings and may only require few experience, time, effort and management from the business person with minimum risk. As good as this may sound to the ears of an average person who just want to find a way to earn a living through business, most of these so-called best franchises are just scams.
There are things that one can do in order to identify a franchise scam. One of the ways is to contact the Better Business Bureau to ask for some information about the franchise and if there are complaints filed against it. One can also call the office of the General Attorney to get to talk to the Consumer Affairs Division to find out if there had been complaints about a certain franchise.
If you are now considering the purchase of a franchise, you can ask for a copy of the franchise’s UFOC, a document that is required by the Federal Trade Commission to franchisors to send to the prospect buyer at least ten days before the sale of the franchise deal. Hiring a franchise attorney to represent you through the deal process and agreement is also best.
